Celebrate the Arts Wednesday, May 22 – Sponsored by PTA

Celebrate the Arts is just a few days away!  Thank you to everyone who is volunteering; without you, this day would not be possible.  We have had to make some last minute changes so the job you were assigned may change.  We do everything we can to make sure you are working in your child's grade, but we have to cover all activities to insure the day runs smoothly.  Please check in at the front of the office and get a name tag between 8:15 and 8:30 a.m.

There will be an opening ceremony on the playground starting at 8:30 a.m. with a flag presentation.  The first art session will follow at 9:00 a.m. 

Lunch will be provided for adult volunteers.  Parents who are not volunteering are still welcome to come to school at lunch time.  Please feel free to bring a lunch and join your child for a picnic and some great music on the grass at 12:30 p.m.

Volunteer Appreciation Tea – Wednesday, May 29 – 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. – MPR – Sponsored by PTA

Here's to all of the Montevideo School volunteers; those dedicated people who donate their time and energy to make our school a better place for everyone.  We Thank You!

You may be working in the classrooms or the library, supervising groups of students at Late Bird arrival time, working at lunch supervising the cafeteria and the playground, worked at the school carnival or Movie Nights, or Bingo nights, or another one of the many wonderful activities sponsored by PTA or MEF this year. 

Maybe you were one of the many parents that organized the Auction Gala or Heritage Potluck and Basket Night.  You may have been a Room Parent or Basket Coordinator.  Perhaps you have driven or helped chaperone on field trips or assisted in after-school activities.  Maybe you were helping out by stuffing Friday Folders at home or at school, copying items for teachers, helping them in other ways.  Thank you to all of the parents who have volunteered to organize, cook, and provide food for the very much appreciated Staff Luncheons. 

Your contribution to the school is invaluable, and we couldn’t do it without you!

Whatever it is that you have done this year to help out at school, we would like to honor you at a morning breakfast and tea event on Wednesday, May 29, in the MPR from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.  Please plan to join us so we can express our gratitude and appreciation.

Open House and BBQ Night – Thursday, May 30

Parents and Family are invited to attend the Annual Open House and BBQ, which will be held on Thursday, May 30.  The schedule will be as follows:

• The BBQ, sponsored by Cub Scout Pack 842, will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the MPR
• Grades 1 – 4 Classrooms will be open from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
• Kindergarten Classroom Visits will be as follows:
  • AM Kindergarten Classes will be open from 6:45 – 7:15 p.m. ONLY.
  • PM Kindergarten Classes will be open from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. ONLY.
• Reminder to 5^th Grade Parents – Fifth grade classrooms will not be open on this evening, because you are invited to attend Portfolio Night on Thursday, June 6.

A green flyer was sent home this week regarding the Open House BBQ.  It is necessary to pre-order and pay for your family’s meals. Please return your BBQ reservation form to school by Friday, May 24, to place your order.  There is no guarantee food will be available to those without a reservation.

Student Senate Designates Two More Dress-up Days

June 12 – Hawaiian Day – Enjoy a day of wearing Hawaiian Shirts or other Hawaiian wear.
